Sharjah: A huge fire destroyed a warehouse in Sharjah’s Al Hamriyah on Friday night, said Brigadier Sami Khamis Al Naqabi, Director-General of Sharjah Civil Defence Authority.
The fire broke out at 11.50 pm, Al Naqabi said.
Firefighters from two fire stations were involved in controlling the blaze. “We immediately took the necessary precautions to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent warehouses,” he said.
The blaze was controlled within 20 minutes. However, one warehouse which stored plastic for making bags was completely gutted in the fire.
There were no reports of casualties and the cause of the fire is still under investigation, said authorities.
