Drivers in Dubai to pay Dh6 during peak Salik hours over Eid break
Dubai: Salik, Dubai’s toll gate operator, will apply variable road toll pricing across all four days of the Eid Al Adha holiday, including Sunday, June 8, the third day of Eid.
The emirate’s road toll operator announced on Wednesday, that from June 5 to 8, (Thursday to Sunday), Salik charges will follow peak and off-peak hour pricing.
During peak hours - 6am to 10am and 4pm to 8pm - drivers will be charged Dh6 each time they pass through any of Dubai’s 10 Salik gates. During off-peak hours - 10am to 4pm and 8pm to 1am - the fee drops to Dh4. There is no charge between 1am and 6am.
While Sundays typically see a flat Dh4 toll fee, this does not apply during public holidays or major events. Salik gates remain active during holidays, and charges follow the time-based pricing structure.
The variable toll system came into effect on January 31, 2025 as part of an initiative to improve traffic flow and enhance road usage efficiency.
Meanwhile, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that public parking will be free from June 5 to 8, except for multi-level parking terminals.
