Effects Tellicherry post emphatic victory

Effects Tellicherry demolished Konkan Cricket Club by 126 runs to enter the quarterfinals of the third AJ Sports Invitation League, conducted by Sharjah Cricket Council and sponsored by the AJ Sports.

Harish M blasted 145 off mere 76 balls with 16 fours and six fours, while Jiby Alex matched him with a superb century (100 off 55 balls with 13 fours and three sixes). This sizeable contributions saw them post 296 for two in the allotted 25 overs.

Konkan Club could not do much and struggled to reach 163 for eight in their quota of 25 overs. Samir (42) and Mushtaq (38) were their main run-getters. Gopal (three for 24) was the main wickettaker.

The surprise result, however, came from National Bank of Dubai, who stunned formidable Classic Advertisers by three wickets in another pre-quarterfinals.

Despite a fine knock from man of the match Dominic (74) that allowed his team to post a good total of 187 for eight in 25 overs. Classic Advertisers found themselves at the receiving end when National Bank of Dubai had a blazing start with 69 runs coming off the first five overs.
