Educational institutions to enforce rule

Dubai: Smoking is prohibited in all educational facilities to go hand in hand with the new decision to ban smoking in public places, said a senior educational official.

Dr Abdullah Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority [KHDA] told Gulf News: "Smoking is prohibited at all educational facilities and teachers should set a positive example for their students by refraining from smoking for them to adopt healthy practices," said Dr Al Karam.

Abdullah Julfar, 19, student at Dubai Men's College said the decision of the municipality is very good but not very practical because most students can't just easily quit smoking.
