Parents and students were warned after a video showing school boys vandalising a classroom, throwing chairs and tables in disarray and hitting the overhead projector inside a classroom in the UAE.
The video had since become viral. UAE education officials said disciplinary action will be taken against the erring students, including obliging their parents to pay repair costs in accordance with the school discipline regulations.
On Sunday, the Ministry of Education stated in a tweet: "What has been done by a number of students vandalising facilities of one of the schools is unacceptable and alien to the school community."
"Deterrent measures will be taken against the concerned students in accordance with the learners’ behaviour regulations, including obliging parents to pay repair expenses."
