Dubai: Pupils in secondary schools nationwide will have an opportunity to participate in a unique educational, cultural, and scientific competition during the new academic year.

The Ministry of Education, in association with Infinity TV, launched the contest.

The contest is about the book, My Vision, by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The objective of distributing the book to all secondary schools is to create a healthy competition among pupils and to teach the new generation lessons of "great leadership", said Ahmad Al Attar, Executive Director of the "My Vision, My Future" project.

He said, "We want the pupils to develop their potential, and come up with new theoretical and practical ideas to succeed in this context, and their future careers."

During the press conference, Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, said: "The competition will introduce pupils to the ideas, concepts, and experiences of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad.

"As it will be a guide in their academic lives, and an opportunity to illustrate their creativity."

Infinity TV is sponsoring the national contest for four years, and it is organising a committee to establish four stages to complete the requirements of the competition.

The first stage involves distributing the book to all secondary schools, starting this week.

Over a period of three months, each school must select five students to participate in the competition and they will be representing their institution.

The second stage will comprise a tournament, organised by Infinity TV at their studio, to quiz five selected pupils from each school to answer questions drawn up by a special committee. All questions are from the book, My Vision.

The process will continue for three months, and the winners of this level will move up to the final round.

In the final stage the contest will narrow the participants until the tournament is left with four schools.

A final and advanced competition will place the four contestants into different ranks.
