No grade changes allowed after final results, confirms the Ministry of Education
Abu Dhabi: Retake exams for students in public and private schools following the Ministry of Education curriculum will conclude tomorrow, Thursday.
These exams were conducted for students who were unsuccessful in the end-of-year assessments for the 2024–2025 academic year. The final paper — Islamic Education — will be held as per the approved schedule.
Exams began on July 4 and involved students from Grades 4 to 12. While Grade 4 exams were paper-based, assessments for Grades 5 to 12 were conducted electronically, in accordance with a rigorous evaluation framework that followed Ministry standards.
Result analysis will commence immediately after the final exam. The Ministry has confirmed that official results will be announced on July 14, which also marks the beginning of the summer break for teaching and administrative staff.
Grade 12 students have been instructed to collect their health records by Thursday, July 10, between 8:00am and 12:30pm. Schools have also emphasised the importance of returning Ministry-issued tablets.
Students must sign an acknowledgment form upon return to avoid delays in receiving their results.
In response to parent inquiries regarding grade modifications and GPA visibility, the Ministry clarified that once final results are approved, no changes will be allowed under any circumstances.
The Ministry stressed that multiple assessments were used throughout the academic year to measure student progress and offer targeted academic support.
It reiterated via its official website that no exceptions to this policy will be made.
All electronic certificates issued for Grades 1–12 now carry an official digital seal and QR code for verification. Certificates can be used formally within the UAE.
For Grade 12 students, hard copies (up to three) can be issued for international use if authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
MoFA also authenticates digital certificates issued since 2018 for use abroad.
Additionally, digitally certified certificates are now available for Grade 12 students in private schools following the Ministry curriculum.
In a major convenience, the Ministry now allows the issuance of digitally certified certificates bearing both the MoFA seal and the UAE embassy stamp in the destination country — eliminating the need for manual processing at MoFA offices.
This service is available via digital platforms, making the process faster and more accessible.
For certificates issued by private schools following foreign curricula, digital authentication is available through the Ministry’s official channels. Applicants can also request MoFA verification.
However, certificates from schools in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah must first be certified by local authorities:
Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK)
Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai
Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA)
Grade 12 students who sat for retake exams will be able to access their digitally certified certificates via the Student Portal once results are released. These can be printed and authenticated following the outlined procedures.
The Ministry clarified that individual subject scores are visible in the Student Portal. However, for Grade 12 students, the overall GPA appears only on the final certificate — and only for those who pass.
For Grades 1–11, certificates display letter grades only, as these levels are not considered for university admission.
For Grade 12, numeric grades are provided for Group A subjects (which count toward the GPA), while Group B subjects are shown with letter grades and excluded from GPA calculations.
