Striking terror in the classroom

Over-zealous teachers in some schools think the only way to teach children is to knock knowledge into their brains.

The parents never learn about the abuse for years because the child is afraid the teacher will give him or her bad marks on the exams if he or she complains.

Some public school teachers believe beating the child with whatever is handy is normal behaviour, despite the fact that corporal punishment is now illegal and the Ministry of Education has warned that strict action will be taken against teachers who beat up children.

Principals of some public schools hide the fact that teachers are taking matters literally into their hands, because they too are apparently not properly trained to run an educational institution and cannot handle unruly children.

Child abuse comes in many forms; for instance a teacher who calls the student names in front of the class, or a father who slaps his son in front of the teacher and classmates because the child got a bad report card.
