Sharjah, France, discuss bilateral relations in health care

Sultan holds discussions with health minister

Paris Sharjah and France discussed promoting bilateral relations in medicine and health care and enhancing cooperation in medical research.

The issues were discussed by His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and Dr Nora Berra, French Health Minister, at a meeting held at the Ministry of Health in Paris.

The two parties discussed ways to promote and develop bilateral relations in medicine and health care in addition to enhancing cooperation between the medical research institutes in Sharjah such as the University of Sharjah and the University Hospital in Sharjah as well as their counterparts in France. The areas of cooperation were specified in specialised health care, continued education, scientific research and scholarships.

The meeting built upon the University of Sharjah's existing synergy with major health care and higher education institutions in France that have already been translated into productive work programmes.

Dr Shaikh Sultan was accompanied by Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation, Mohammad Mir Abdullah Al Raeesi, UAE Ambassador to France, Dr Amr Abdul Hamid, Special Adviser to His Highness for Higher Education, Dr Samy Mahmoud, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, and others.
