Dubai: Private education providers in Dubai have come together to have a collective voice in influencing policy decisions in the education sector.

The Dubai Private Schools Group (DPSG) has elected a nine-member executive committee with Sharaf Uddin Al Sayed M.H. Sharaf of Al Mawakeb School as the Chairman.

The business group representing private schools in Dubai, has been formed to support the private education sector of Dubai by enhancing the overall quality of education and encouraging progressive growth policies. The group was formed by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of its commitment to represent, support and protect the interests of the business community in Dubai.

Membership to the group is open to all private schools in Dubai, and DPSG claims it has 30 initial members representing over 40 per cent of the total private student population in Dubai schools.

Other projected goals of DPSG include introducing programmes that help curriculum design and teacher training.
