Hamdan Bin Mohammad e-University book to enhance speaking and writing skills
Dubai: A new Arabic textbook for learners has been launched by the Centre for Arabisation and Program Integrity (CAPI) at the Hamdan Bin Mohammad e-University (HBMeU).
The book launch aims to address traditional writing skills, discuss at length the latest developments related to drafting official letters, reporting, CV writing and drafting commercial emails and letters.
The new textbook was launched in line with the objectives of the Arabic Language Charter, which was initiated by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to establish the UAE as a global centre of excellence for the Arabic language while focusing on nurturing the language as part of the quest to uphold the Emirati national identity for future generations.
It is also aimed at reviving its vital role as a language of civilisation, science and culture, and enhancing its use in general life, particularly in internal and external government transactions.
Dr Mansour Al Awar, Chancellor, said: “The textbook represents a quantum leap in the field of university courses and the Arabisation of the sources of knowledge, giving them a renewed, contemporary spirit.”
“The new Arabic textbook is of great importance because it represents a cornerstone in the field of university courses in line with the requirements of scientific progress and civil development, in a bid to build a knowledgeable and educated young generation that is able to lead the overall development process in the UAE,” Dr Talal Mohammad Al Darweesh, head of the HBMeU’s CAPI, said.
