Abu Dhabi: As part of its efforts to develop the quality of education across the emirate, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) announced the inauguration of Al Rayana School in collaboration with Aldar Academies, which will manage and operate the school.
Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Adek’s chairman, said the department is keen on providing an optimal learning environment to help students improve their performance and be able to compete globally. The initiative will create new educational and investment opportunities in Abu Dhabi and will enhance strategic partnerships with the private sector.
Al Nuaimi added that Adek strives to implement best educational practices, adopt new teaching pedagogies in alignment with 21st century skills, while motivating students towards creativity and innovation.
Mohammad Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman, Aldar Properties, lauded the partnership with Adek which allows Aldar Academies to boost its relationship with the public sector, stressing the commitment of the institution in providing a world class education using best international models, one that aims to produce qualified and highly skilled students.
Al Mubarak pointed out that Aldar is keen to adopt international standards while preserving a student’s national identity, as well as to encourage students to pursue their higher education degree in leading universities, and prepare them to join the labour market.
Sara Musallam, executive director of Adek’s Private Schools and Quality Assurance Sectors, said Al Rayana School is introducing a unique education model in Abu Dhabi through its collaboration with the private sector. It will operate in Al Falah area as a Kindergarten to Cycle 1 school, and will accommodate 2,000 students. The school will enrol students transferring from the Rooh Al Etihad School starting the new school year.
The school will offer an American curriculum in addition to teaching subjects such as Arabic, Islamic Education and Social Studies.
