Dubai:  The Ministry of Education on Friday approved the schedule and methods for the first semester exams of public and private schools that follow the ministry's curriculum, and adult education centres and home school students.

According to a circular issued by Ali Maihed Al Suwaidi, Acting Director General at the ministry, first semester exams for private and public school students in Grade 6-11 will be held on December 12-December 16.

The same schedule applies to Grade 7-11 home school and adult education centre students.

Grade 12 science and literature students will give their exams from December 7 until December 16.

Across zones

The circular also points out that the assessment and exams department in the ministry will prepare the final exam papers for all three semesters, and make-up exams for Grade 12 students, which will be similar all across the UAE. The education zone will prepare the final and make-up exams for specific primary and secondary level subjects.

The circular by Al Suwaidi says that the exams issued by a particular education zone can also be used by different zones. It also points out that the education zone director will form a team that will oversee the exams and approve first semester final examination schedules for Grade 6-11 in public and private schools that follow the ministry's curriculum.
