Lunch boxes ready, books pack as youngsters come to terms with the end of the summer break

Dubai: Today was the first day of school for 970,000 students who started their academic year 2014-2015 in 1400 public and private schools across the UAE.
While most schools did open on Sunday, many private school are set to open early in September, while others (mostly new private schools) are set to open by mid-way through next month.
Many staff started work on August 24 to prepare for the arrival of students.
