Edufair takes place this weekend, May 24-25, at Millennium Downtown, Abu Dhabi
After concluding a successful Dubai edition that attracted over 9,000 visitors, Gulf News Edufair is bringing its first Abu Dhabi edition to Millennium Downtown on May 24-25. The event comes at a crucial time, with Grade 12 board exam results now released and students preparing to confirm their university choices ahead of the September intake.
More than 20 higher education institutions, career service providers and partners from the UAE and overseas are participating. Exhibitors will interact with students and parents, offering information on academic programmes, admission criteria, tuition fees and scholarships. Several universities will also conduct spot review of applications and offer Edufair-specific grants and discounts.
For many families, visiting multiple campuses across the UAE to compare programmes and assess career outcomes isn’t always practical. Edufair Abu Dhabi offers a space for students and parents to engage directly with university representatives and get the information they need.
Among the participants is Symbiosis International University, Dubai, which launched operations last year and will present its academic offerings to Abu Dhabi’s student community.
“Symbiosis Dubai is proud to participate in Edufair Abu Dhabi, an initiative by Gulf News that connects students, parents, and top universities from the region. With our CAA-accredited programmes and a proud legacy of over 50 years, we ensure high academic standards and offer a rich educational experience,” says Dr Anita Patankar, Executive Director at Symbiosis Dubai.
“Events like Edufair play a vital role in helping families make informed decisions by providing direct access to university representatives and insights into campus life,” she adds.
Middlesex University Dubai will highlight the importance of aligning academic programmes with future workforce needs.
“As industries evolve, so too must our approach to education, and through rigorous alignment with emerging trends and future job market demands, MDX Dubai offers courses that not only foster intellectual growth but also empower students to navigate the complexities of tomorrow’s professional landscape,” says Professor Cedwyn Fernandes, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Middlesex University and Director of Middlesex University Dubai.
“Our courses equip our graduates with key competencies like leadership and influence, entrepreneurial mindset, communication, empathy and inclusion.”
Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai will also be in Abu Dhabi, showcasing programmes developed in collaboration with employers and industry experts to reflect current skill demands.
“We ensure our programmes stay aligned with industry needs through continuous engagement with employers, sector specialists, and real-time market insights,” says Dr Roma Raina, Head - Corporate Alliances and Partnerships at Manipal Dubai.
“Fields like artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, and media are increasingly in demand, driving transformation across sectors including finance, healthcare and communication. Meanwhile, liberal arts and business administration are rising in relevance for their adaptability and interdisciplinary approach,” Dr Raina explains.
Amity University Dubai will highlight programmes aimed at preparing students for complex global challenges.
“From robotics, artificial intelligence and machine learning to aerospace engineering, forensic science, and sustainable architecture, our students are immersed in future-focused disciplines backed by advanced laboratories, hands-on research opportunities, and industry collaboration,” says Prof. Rafid Alkhaddar, Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University Dubai.
The event will also feature institutions offering study abroad options in key destinations, many of which include post-study work pathways and residency opportunities. Executive education and professional certification providers will be present as well, responding to growing interest in upskilling and career progression.
Edufair Abu Dhabi will host panel discussions, fireside chats, and presentations covering career planning, entrepreneurship, overseas education, and university entrance strategies.
