Dubai’s RTA launches 2025–26 Academic Scholarship Programme to nurture Emirati talent

Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched its Academic Scholarship Programme for the 2025–2026 academic year, aimed at investing in national talent and preparing skilled professionals to meet the organisation’s future needs.

This year, 20 Emirati students have been selected to study within the UAE as part of RTA’s commitment to nurturing young talent and equipping them with knowledge and skills that match the highest international standards.

The initiative forms part of RTA’s wider strategy to support Emiratisation by developing qualified cadres in priority fields and strategic projects. It also seeks to guide students on career pathways after graduation, introducing them to the diverse roles within RTA and how they can contribute to its mission.

Scholarship recipients will enrol at leading universities, including the American University of Sharjah, University of Sharjah, University of Dubai, Zayed University, and the Higher Colleges of Technology.

Areas of study include electrical and electronic engineering, intelligent systems engineering, computer science and engineering, artificial intelligence, civil and mechanical engineering, information systems and business analytics, mechatronics, and robotics — disciplines essential to RTA’s operational and service plans.

The Academic Scholarship Programme is among RTA’s distinguished annual initiatives, typically supporting between 10 and 20 students from targeted categories each year.

By aligning academic preparation with operational requirements, the programme ensures a steady pipeline of highly skilled Emirati professionals capable of delivering innovative solutions to support Dubai’s growing infrastructure and transport sector.
