Ruler of Ajman attends tenth Gulf Medical University convocation ceremony

Ajman: His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, honoured the best outgoing students at the tenth Gulf Medical University convocation ceremony yesterday in Ajman.

The convocation ceremony saw 92 graduates receive their degrees from the colleges of medicine, allied health sciences, dentistry and pharmacy. The graduates also included 13 master’s students who received their degrees in clinical pathology, toxicology and public health.

Shaikh Humaid congratulated the students for their academic achievement saying: “This event signifies that each of the students has demonstrated the required intellectual ability and the personal qualities of hard work, perseverance and accomplishment to attain a special mark of recognition.”

During the ceremony, Shaikh Humaid gave away the Best Outgoing Students’ Awards to Dr Zainab Qudsiya, Lubna Khalid Memon, Dr Nimra Imtiaz and Tahira Kokab.

Addressing the students, Thumbay Moideen, Founder President, Board of GMU, congratulated them on their achievement: “You must also concentrate on building the best reputation, work hard to realise your goals and keep up your good work that enabled you reach this milestone. Continue to learn as a life learner, and you’ll graduate life successfully.”

At the end of the ceremony, Professor Gita Ashok Raj, provost of GMU, took the students through the graduation oath.
