In addition, starting this year, student assessments are based on their overall performance during the academic year

Abu Dhabi: On the first day of final exams in all public schools, officials from the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec) visited two schools to ensure that all exam-taking rules and regulations were accurately followed.

The officials, which included Mugheer Al Khaili, Director General of Adec, visited Al Qadesiyah Girls' School and Al Mutanabi Boys' School to monitor the current examination conditions.

This is the first time that examinations are being held during regular school days in 45-minute sessions, to minimise the interruption of classes. This initiative will also ensure that students feel at ease with their timings and study schedules.

In addition, starting this year, student assessments are based on their overall performance during the academic year instead of only taking into account final examination grades.

Based on Adec approval, 60 per cent of the final grade will depend on each student's performance and other assessments made during the year.
