"Summer school is a good thing for parents who are working as well as for children who are spending their holidays in Dubai," says Sushila Rai, the principal of Smart Children's Nursery. "Activities should be fun-oriented as well as educational," she adds.

Children between the age group of one to six years, can enroll for summer camps at Hope Montessori School, Kids Village Montessori Nursery, Kid's Island Nursery, Happy Home Nursery and Smart Children's Nursery.

"Camps are all about entertaining young children over the holidays with both indoor and outdoor activities," said Janet Thompson, Headmistress, Jumeirah International Nursery, which is affiliated to Jumeirah Infants Nursery. "The heat is on and we are cooling down with a lot of water activities."

Both these schools are holding summer camps for the above mentioned age group. An interesting activity organised by them is role play, where children get a chance to become anything they choose, like a micky mouse, clown or a fireman.

Some of the schools are holding summer activities for children from two years old to 16. De La Salle Montessori, has a few unique activities such as origami, photography and wearable arts and is also organising a camp fire towards the end of the summer school.

Apart from their regular activities, Our Own English High School organises chess games, public speaking and creative writing for older children and activities like paper craft, block building and speech training for those between three to seven years of age.

A unique feature of the summer camp at Al Diyafah School, is ice skating.

Apple International School has activities for boys from three to 12 and girls between three to 16 years of age. Some of their special activities are vegetable carving, fabric painting, embroidery and personal development.
