Aaj Tak - the Indian 24-hour news channel - will be available from today to UAE viewers who subscribe to e-vision.
The channel has tied up with e-vision, the digital cable TV provider.
The channel is part of The India Today Group and was launched on December 31, 2000, with an initial connectivity of 5.2 million homes in India.
Chander M. Rai, CEO International of the India Today Group and Publishers of India Today International, said: "We are extremely happy that Aaj Tak has joined hands with the country's only digital cable TV provider using the latest cabling technology."
Humaid Rashid Sahoo, e-vision's CEO, noted: "The addition of Aaj Tak to our platform brings even more choice of quality news broadcasting to e-vision subscribers."
G. Krishnan, the CEO of Aaj Tak who was recently adjudged the Media Person of the Year 2001 by Media Meet, said: "The channel deploys a 300-strong team of journalists. We now plan to take Aaj Tak to international audiences and the tie-up with e-vision is the first step in that direction."
