Dubai zone suffers teacher shortage
The Dubai Educational Zone is suffering from a shortage of 163 teachers, said an official.
The zone recently appointed candidates to fill vacancies for 85 female teachers, 31 male teachers and 47 reserve female teachers, said Rashida Badri, Head of the Educational Affairs Section at the Educational Zone.
Some have already assumed their positions.
The schools' administrations repeatedly notified the educational zone about these vacancies, which have put the zone in a tight situation, with parents continuously calling in with queries.
Some school books have not yet been distributed to students, which is sure to impact negatively on the educational process, said Rashida.
