Dubai Taxi Corporation is deploying 300 vehicles to enhance the integration with various transport modes of the RTA, said Abdul Aziz Malik, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation.

Abdul Aziz Malik said that taxicabs would be integrated with all other public transport modes in Dubai such as public buses, water transport and Dubai Metro. The project which will transform the quality of mobility in the region, add a beautiful dimension to the city of Dubai, contribute to the mobility of residents, and ease traffic congestion, he said. While constructing the infrastructure of Dubai emirate RTA allocated special parking spaces for taxis.

Speaking on cabdrivers of DTC Abdul Aziz said, “Drivers of about 300 taxis have so far undergone a field planning to acquaint them with the metro stations, and a practical training has been arranged to 1531 drivers, as well as a theoretical training for 3935 drivers. Metro location maps have also been distributed to drivers to know the locations well before the launch of the project.

“The current taxi fleet operating in the emirate of Dubai belongs to 6 franchise companies that include RTA Dubai Taxi Corporation, National Taxi, Cars Taxi, Metro Taxi, Arabia Taxi, and City Taxi; which is run on the basis of ride sharing. Franchise & Monitoring Dep't at Public Transport Agency attends to supervising the performance of these companies.
