Database will help police in crime investigation
Dubai: A wide database for criminals and crimes was established by police to offer easy access to such information when required.
Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, has inaugurated the new federal criminal information programme at the Criminal Investigation Department.
Lieutenant General Dahi said the new criminal information programme will have the largest database on criminal cases all over the country.
“This programme is considered a key reference to search for the required data related to any criminal case, and it offers easy and quick access to police to the information,” he said.
Lieutenant General Dahi said the programme has been linked with the main criminal system at the federal level.
“Dubai Police is keen to keep up with all the developments in technology in its services,” he said.
Colonel Jamal Al Jallaf, deputy director of the General Investigation department said the new criminal information programme will analyse criminal cases databases in terms of criminal behaviour, people with criminal records, motive of the crime and the location of the crime.
He said in addition to offering statistical analysis, the criminal information programme also gives a complete study of the accused and the victim and it will have detailed records on any crime that will aid the forensics investigations.
The inauguration was attended by senior police officials.
