Dubai Marina: Road closure temporary

The closure of one of the main entrances into Dubai Marina is temporary but needed to conduct the final work on the new Interchange 5.5 on Shaikh Zayed Road, said a Roads and Transport Authority official.

The entrance road for motorists coming from Dubai and those exiting for Abu Dhabi was closed last week leading to long daily delays for Dubai Marina residents stuck in traffic.

The official, however, said the pain will end for drivers when the roads reopen in September once asphalt, concrete and lighting work on the new interchange is completed.

"This had to be closed. We don't want to affect the safety of the people working on the interchange," he said.
