Dubai launches first centre for evaluating quality of foresight studies

Dubai:  In a pioneering step that reflects its forward-looking vision and commitment to institutional innovation, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai announced the launch of the Centre for Evaluating the Quality of Foresight Studies, the first of its kind dedicated to assessing the quality of future studies.

The newly launched centre aims to establish precise, objective scientific standards for measuring the maturity of foresight studies. It will do so through an advanced evaluation matrix that analyses research tools, aligns results with global trends and expected changes, and assesses the accuracy of forecasts, clarity of future visions, and sustainability of proposed solutions.

According to officials overseeing the centre, its strategic objective is to enhance the credibility of foresight research and offer a trusted evaluation reference that enables decision-makers and researchers worldwide to develop more effective policies based on scientific data and transparent standards.

International credibility

The centre has been officially endorsed by a group of globally recognised foresight experts, adding to its international credibility and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for innovation in future governance and the adoption of proactive decision-making approaches.

On this occasion, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai, stated:

“The launch of the Centre for Evaluating the Quality of Foresight Studies is a true reflection of Dubai’s vision for global leadership.
