Emirates has entered into an agreement with Kuwait Airways that allows all Kuwait Airways passengers to travel on Emirates flights without the need for their tickets to be endorsed.

This follows Kuwait Airways' suspension of its worldwide operations with the exception of services to Dubai and Cairo, said an Emirates statement.

The Endorsement Waiver Agreement between the two airlines came into operation yesterday.

For example, now a Kuwait Airways ticket-holder travelling from Singapore-Kuwait-Beirut can now travel without endorsement on Emirates Singapore-Dubai-Beirut, explained the company.

Kuwait Airways will rebook its passengers on Emirates' flights where possible. Emirates will accommodate Kuwait Airways ticket-holders that have not been re-booked on a standby basis. The agreement will remain in effect until further notice.

In normal circumstances, Kuwait Airways must endorse its own tickets before they can be used for travel on Emirates, said Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates' commercial operations director. "We continue to monitor the situation closely."

Following a problem-free operation yesterday, Emirates is continuing its flights between Dubai and Kuwait. Timings are changed for the afternoon service but not for the morning one.

Today and tomorrow, Flight EK 857 will depart Dubai at 3.15pm and arrive Kuwait at 3.55pm. The return flight EK858 will depart Kuwait at 5.10pm and arrive Dubai 7.40pm.

From tomorrow to Saturday, March 29, EK857 will depart Dubai at 2pm, arriving Kuwait 2.40pm. Return flight EK858 will depart Kuwait at 3.55pm and arrive Dubai 6.25pm.

Timings for the morning flight, operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays remain unchanged. EK 855 departs Dubai at 7.45am and arrives Kuwait at 7.30am.

The return flight EK856 departs Kuwait at 9.40am and arrives Dubai at 12.10pm. All times given are local.
