Dubai: The government of Dubai has banned all restaurants, cafes and coffee shops from offering shisha to customers for a period of two weeks.

This was announced by Dubai Media Office on its Twitter account on Thursday.

The announcement was made as a precautionary measure to ensure the health and safety of the society in the wake of the global coronavirus outbreak.

The ban is in effect from March 12.

A number of inspection campaigns will be launched to ensure cafes comply with the orders.
