Dubai: Three school bus drivers became heroes after saving a badly injured stray cat hit by a car.

On May 26, Suki was found covered in blood at the New Indian Model School compound in Al Garhoud.

The drivers Nasar Koya and Nujumudeen from India and Habib Khan from Pakistan, rushed the cat to a vet. “They put her in a cardboard box and took her to a vet hospital. Their prompt action helped save the life of Suki,” said Kay Ivanova, founder, 38smiles, an animal rescue group in Dubai.

“Due to the extensive injury, her front leg could not be saved. Suki has since then made full recovery and adjusted to her new three-legged status. She has even found a new home,” said Ivanova.

The selfless action by the drivers struck a chord and 38 smiles rewarded them with gifts. “These men took it upon themselves to save the animal and we applaud them. We are grateful to them for saving Suki’s life,” said Ivanova.
