Dibba-Masafi road to be converted to dual carriageway
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing has announced the start of bidding for the first phase of Dibba-Masafi two-lane dual carriageway project.
The contract cost is estimated at Dh12.2 million.
The project is expected to be implemented in 180 days, preceded by 30 days as preparatory period.
Engineer Ibrahim Al Wahabi, Director of Roads and Utilities Department at the ministry, said the project will also include the construction of a 7.5km-dual carriage up till Defence Roundabout in Dibba Al Fujairah.
The work includes maintenance of the old road, construction of barriers and lighting. This section of the road will also serve as an extension to Edhin Al Taween-Dibba road.
A dual carriageway between Khor Fakkan and Dibba is in the planning and design stage. The new roads will ensure easy flow of traffic on roads linking cities in the Eastern Coast.
