Sharjah: Sharjah Police are investigating a worker’s death in Sharjah Airport Free Zone on Sunday afternoon, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.
The 23-year-old victim from Nepal died after reportedly being injured at work on site.
The official said that the victim was not wearing safety gear at the time of the incident and the company for which he worked had not adhered to safety regulations by making it mandatory for him to wear the gear, the official said.
The body of the victim was transferred to forensic laboratory for an autopsy.
The company’s managers are in custody for questioning. Co-workers who witnessed the accident are also being questioned to try to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, the official added.
The official urged all companies should follow safety measures for the safety of their workers.
