Police hunt for five rape suspects

Sharjah: Five Arab suspects are being pursued by Sharjah Police in connection with the kidnap and rape of an Emirati woman, who reported the crime to Sharjah Police on Wednesday.

Police have not revealed the circumstances and details surrounding the incident as it is still under investigation.

The 25-year-old victim said that five men stopped her in front of her house in Al Butina area of Sharjah and pulled her inside their car.

She said that she was severely beaten and raped by five young men and then thrown out of a car.

The woman was taken to Al Kuwaiti Hospital and then transferred to Al Qasimi Hospital for a medical examination.

Sharjah Police said that they are following procedures with the victim and are pursuing the five suspects through official channels.

The case is with Al Hira police station for further investigation.
