Crash into sand excavator while on his motorbike led to his paralysis

Abu Dhabi: A man suffering from half-body paralysis (hemiplegia) after his motorcycle collided with a sand excavating machine at a demolition site will be granted Dh1.58 million, the Abu Dhabi Civil Court of Appeals ruled.

The company performing the demolition was sued on grounds that it had failed to provide sufficient signs indicating that work was ongoing in that specific location.

During the trial at the Court of Appeals, the plaintiff’s parents, wife and three children told the court that he had been their only breadwinner and explained the emotional toll that the incident had taken on them.
