Sharjah: An investigation has been launched after a man collapsed and died at a supermarket in Sharjah on Sunday evening, police said on Monday.

The Pakistani man had purchased some items when he collapsed at the supermarket in Al Buhairah and died.

The 40-year-old man was at the supermarket along with his roommates when the incident occured.

The man, identified as M.A.R.M., was rushed to Al Qassimi Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News on Monday.

The body was taken to the hospital by national ambulance.

An official source at the hospital told Gulf News they are still trying to ascertain the cause of the man’s death.

The body was transferred to the forensic laboratory to determine the cause of death, the official said.

Buhairah police is investigating the incident.
