Maid fined Dh10,000 for cruel treatment of employer’s child

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Claims Court has ordered a maid to pay Dh10,000 in compensation to her employer, the legal guardian of a baby she was hired to care for. Surveillance footage showed the maid’s ill-treatment of the infant, causing both physical and psychological harm to the child.

The father of the child who filed the case demanded Dh51,000 in compensation for the damages, with an interest of 12% from the date of filing the case.

The court found her guilty and ruled the maid to pay 10,000 to the child’s guardian.
