Driver dies after marble slab falls on him

Sharjah: A Pakistani forklift driver died instantly yesterday when a large marble slab he was moving fell on him after a chain holding it snapped, Sharjah Police said.

The man identified as M.H.K., aged 45 years and a father of two, was taken to Al Qasimi hospital but he was reported dead on arrival.

Police said the man was the owner of the forklift and he did jobs for construction firms. The chain holding the marble broke and the marble slab fell on him crushing his arms and legs, police said.

The accident occurred in the industrial area.
