Suspect accused of molesting woman, threatening to shame her if she did not have sex with him
Dubai: A driver has been accused of secretly filming a woman having sex with his friend, then threatening to publish the recording if she didn’t sleep with him.
The 36-year-old Pakistani driver, G.M., was said to have sneaked out of his room while his countryman friend, S.T., and the Filipina woman were in bed in September.
The suspect is believed to have secretly filmed the couple before he pushed his friend away and asked to have sex with the Filipina.
Prosecutors accused G.M. of molesting the woman and threatening to dishonour her by publishing the secret recording if she refused to have sex with him.
The defendant entered a not guilty plea and denied his accusations when he showed up before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Monday.
According to the charge sheet, prosecutors said the suspect molested the woman by kissing her and groping her after he filmed her naked against her will. He was also charged with threatening to dishonour her by showing her photos to others if she did not surrender to him.
“I did not molest her or threaten her,” G.M. told presiding judge Ezzat Abdul Lat.
According to prosecution records, S.T. has also been referred to the Dubai Misdemeanours Court where he is standing trial for indulging in a form of consensual sex activity.
Available records did not specify whether the woman has also been referred to the Misdemeanours Court.
The 27-year-old Filipina testified to prosecutors that S.T. picked her up from Sharjah and took her to his residence in Al Ghusais at 8.30pm.
“S.T.... hugged and kissed me for a while… then G.M. came from a room and pushed S.T. away and slapped him. I covered myself with my clothes while G.M. kissed me and asked to have sex with me. I refused. Then he groped me...when I tried to move away, he claimed that hehad filmed me secretly while I was with S.T. He claimed that if I refused to have sex with him, he would publish my nude photos. I...promised to meet him the next day. Then he dropped me home… the next day I did not answer his persistent calls. He sent me two messages saying [ok] and [done]. I felt scared and reported the matter to the police,” the woman claimed to prosecutors.
G.M.’s lawyer asked presiding judge Abdul Lat to adjourn the case until she produces her defence on February 23.
