Arresting officer testified he witnessed defendants spraying soap on people in the area

The Dibba Al Fujairah Misdemeanor Court has issued its verdict in the case of 14 individuals who endangered public health during National Day celebrations in the Al Faqeet area by spraying soap on passersby, posing a risk to their eye safety. Each defendant was fined Dh 1,000.
The incident occurred when the defendants were caught spraying soap in a public area, which led to several people being exposed to potential harm, particularly to their eyes.
Dibba Al Fujairah Police apprehended the individuals and charged 12 of them with intentionally committing acts that endangered public health. The remaining two were additionally charged with causing harm.
During the investigation, the arresting officer testified that he witnessed the defendants spraying soap on people in the area. Some of the accused confessed to the charges, while others denied them.
At the trial, the court reviewed testimonies from both the defendants and witnesses. Based on the investigation and confessions from some of the accused—as well as witness statements confirming that individuals were put at risk—the court found the charges to be substantiated.
Based on Article 213 of the Criminal Procedure Law, which states that “if the act is proven and constitutes a punishable offense, the court shall impose the appropriate penalty under the law,” the court ruled to fine each defendant Dh 1,000 and ordered them to pay all applicable court fees.
