Sharjah: The parents of a three-year-old girl who died of suspected food poisoning on Saturday were discharged from hospital yesterday while their three children are still under observation, doctors said.

Their four-year-old daughter, Aisha, is in the Intensive Care Unit at Al Qasimi Hospital and doctors say she is suffering from heart problems. The girl's younger sister Khadeeja had started vomiting at 2am followed by her other siblings.

The family had picked up food from Pak Gazi Restaurant on Saturday for a picnic at Khalid Lagoon.

The restaurant is still open for business and the owner said he is waiting for the forensic report.

The family had ordered biryani, fried brain and kebab for take-away.

He said Municipal officials visited the restaurant many times since the incident.

An official at Al Qasimi hospital said Aisha is suffering from heart problems, but her situation is stable.

The food control section at Sharjah Municipality said it will soon issue a report on the incident.

"We are all heartbroken," said Al Rahman on the death of his daughter. "We are praying that Allah saves the life of our other daughter Aisha," he said.
