Al Ain: A court in Al Ain has ordered a man to pay Dh 10,000 to a woman he insulted and threatened online.

The woman had sued the man, demanding Dh50,000 in compensation for material, moral, and psychological damages, along with 12 per cent legal interest from the date of the claim until full payment, plus court fees.

She accused him of using offensive language that impugned her honour over the internet, a claim substantiated by a prior conviction by the Al Ain Family Prosecution.

The Al Ain Court for Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Cases found the defendant liable, citing evidence of psychological harm caused by his actions.

The court awarded the woman Dh10,000 as fair compensation for the material and moral damages she suffered.
