Construction worker falls to death in Ajman

Ajman: An Indian worker died after falling from a building under construction in Al Hamidiyah area of Ajman on Tuesday, police said.

The accident took place on Monday morning at 9am. Workers at the site reported the incident to the police operation room.

The 26-year-old worker was identified as R.S and paramedics transferred the victim to Khalifa Hospital, Colonel Ali Saeed Al Matroushi, Director-General of Police Operations, told Gulf News.

The worker later succumbed to his injuries, he said.

The case is with Al Hamidiyah police station for further investigations.

Police are urging construction companies to ensure that all safety measures are in place at their work sites in order to avoid similar accidents.

This is the second case this year, Earlier, another worker who was doing maintenance work on a building under construction, died after falling from a ladder. He did not have any safety gear, police said.
