Dubai: A series of community initiatives has been announced by the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Hatta.
It is being done following the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to develop infrastructure in Hatta and undertake projects to meet the needs of the citizens.
Dr Maryam Mattar, Director General of the CDA, said a community centre will be opened in Hatta to attend to citizens' needs and provide different segments with the necessary social care needed, and to allow them to choose the specific social programmes they would like to benefit from.
"Setting up these community centres is an important step for CDA in its aims of attaining the goals of Dubai Strategic Plan 2015, declared by Shaikh Mohammad on February 3, 2007, which entails raising the levels of social development in Dubai and enhancing the role of UAE nationals in society, in an attempt to accomplish the key objectives of the developmental sector," she said.
The Hatta Community Centre would play a vital role in ensuring that the social care of citizens is maintained, as its services have been tailored specifically to the needs of the Hatta community, assuring residents that the initial preparations for the centre have been completed.
Dr Maryam said: "The Hatta Community Centre is one of two projects set to be launched by the CDA in Dubai, and they will be the first of many projects and initiatives aimed at elevating the social standards in Dubai through an integrated system of policies and quality services for everyone."
Point of contact
She said that the community centres set to be opened will also be the first point of contact for citizens wishing to learn more about the CDA and how they can benefit from its social initiatives and added that extensive research was carried out during the planning phase.
"Data was collected from over 2,500 families, and we are confident this will help us turn Dubai into an inspiring model of community well-being and national identity," said Dr Maryam.
Approval: Mosques to be built
Dubai Municipality has approved the architectural plans for the five mosques to be built in Hatta in line with the instructions of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The municipality will implement the projects, which will be completed in a year, and will come up in various locations. The mosques will have designs inspired by UAE culture, and will be equipped with the latest fittings and facilities.
