Hundreds of people from different nationalities supported the Palestinians in the Occupied Territories through their contributions at a charity bazaar organised off the Al Qasba Canal yesterday.

The bazaar, which was organised by the Arab Family Organisation, saw a huge influx of people from 10 am to 10 pm, said Faiqa Mohammed Habib, the organisation's advisor.

The bazaar included home decoration items, plates, pins, key holders, cassettes, jugs, robes and dresses, and the Palestinian 'kofiya' or scarf which attracted many visitors.

Samyah Salamah, a volunteer at the bazaar, said that many people also donated food to be sold at the bazaar.

"This is the minimum we can do for our brothers and sisters under the savage occupation and the brutal practices of the enemy's army," she noted.

The bazaar is part of the organisation's fraternity project, which aims to help Palestinians rebuild their infrastructure being destroyed by the Israeli arsenal.

"All the participants were made to sign on a paper which will be sent along with a statement to the UN Secretary General, as well as to the Arab leaders, to protest the Israeli violations against the Palestinians," she explained.

The organisation will organise at 9am today a solidarity march for women along the Al Qasba Canal. Women representatives from local departments and the wives of diplomats are expected to take part in the march.

The march will culminate at the Al Qasba Theatre for an oratory session to declare support to the Palestinians.

The session will be attended by representatives from the Arab League and other dignitaries.
