Renowned Australian sand sculptor Jenny Rossen has completed her work of art on Muraqqabat Street – a 20-foot high medieval castle that is dwarfed by the buildings around but still stands tall for its beauty and aesthetic appeal.

Jenny is in Dubai as part of the activities of Dubai Shopping Festival. The sand sculpture activity on Muraqqabat Street is sponsored by the Dubai Customs Automobile Zone (Ducamz). Jenny took 14 days to complete the castle, using 140 tonnes of sand.

"Ducamz, as key sponsors of DSF for the first year, were pleased to offer Dubai visitors and residents a look at the unique art of sand sculpture which you don't see in this part of the world," said Abdullah Quraishi of Ducamz.

"We were also happy to give people a chance to learn about sand sculpture by taking part in workshops conducted by Jenny."
