The scratch-and-win charity campaign by Rashid Paedriatric Therapy Centre (RPTC) kicked off last week at Emarat Petrol stations, in a bid to raise Dh1.2 million.

The campaign, under the slogan 'Heart-to-Heart', is raising funds for equipment and the centre's new campus.

According to Ahmed Al Khoury, co-founder of RPTC, the funds raised will be used to furnish and equip the new campus at Al Barsha area.

He urged the public to participate in the event as the revenues will go a long way in helping the handicapped. This is the RPTC's second Heart-to-Heart campaign.

Those who are interested can buy a Dh10 coupon from Burger King, City Centre, Ice City at the Modhesh Village, Mega Mall, Crystal Gallery and Al-Ain mall. They can also buy the coupons at Sahara Centre starting from September 1.

Eman Awad, Events and and Media coordinator at RPTC and the organiser of the event, said that it started on July 25 and will continue to November 24.

Eman said that they hoped to raise Dh400,000 to Dh500,000 during the promotion.

"At present, we have 85 students, but starting from the next academic year we will admit 100 new children at the new premises after studying the cases thoroughly and ensuring we can cater to the rehabilitation and treatment they require," she said.

She stressed the new premises will be on par with the centre's philosophy of ensuring an enabling environment so that every child realises his or her learning potential and grows up to participate as a contributing member of society.

The campaign is unique because everybody is an automatic winner of a meal from Burger King. The coupon also entitles the buyer to a 25 per cent discount at Crystal Gallery, a 30 per cent discount at Romeo Design and a 50 per cent discount at restaurants in the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

Furthermore, they have a chance to win a Mercedes car from Gargash Enterprises through the scratch-and-win.
