The young man suffered a heart attack, police official says

Sharjah: An Emirati police cadet died on Monday morning during the morning training at Sharjah police academy.

He has been identified as 19-year-old A.A.S.

Police told Gulf News that the Emirati man, who studied at Sharjah police academy, suffered a heart attack.

“When the young man fell ill while doing the morning training he was rushed to Al Qasimi hospital were he was pronounced dead at around 6am,” a police official said.

The official said the young man was expected to graduate very soon.

The official added that the death of a police cadet was a very sad incident.

“This was a painful incident for his colleagues and for all police officers,” he said.

The family of the deceased, from the Al Qaurayah area of Fujairah, were informed and he was buried on Monday.

He had joined the Academy this year.

An internal investigation into the accident and the death is being conducted, an official at the Police Academy said.
