Budding artistic talents are displaying their works at an exhibition that opened at the Emirates Fine Arts Society yesterday.
The exhibition displays the works of children, aged 6 to 17, who joined the art classes organised by the childhood cultural centres. Abdullah Al Owais, director general of the Department of Culture and Information, opened the exhibition.
Mohammed Fouad Al Shazli, inspector of art activities at the childhood centres, said more than 100 works including paintings, photographs, sculptures and metal carvings are on display.
"The works reflect the high level of creativity the children possess in different kinds of art," he said.
He added that they were able to develop their skills through the workshops organised by the Heritage Department at the Islamic Museum and Bait Al Naboodah.
The childhood centres have been paying a lot of attention to art activities, which qualified many of its children to participate in international art events, said Mohammed Al Rady Al Shafi, general supervisor of the centres.
