Britto's hat-trick helps St. Estevam win

St. Estevam outplayed Raia 4-0 in the Goan Inter-Village football tournament at Al Nasr ground yesterday.

Man of the match Colin Britto scored the second hat-trick of the tournament. He first scored in the 13th minute of the fist half and increased the tally by in the 14th and 19th minutes.

Karlton Rosario scored the fourth goal in the last minute. Raia, led by veteran Jack, tried to penetrate their opponents defence, but in vain.

In the other match of the day, Sangolda (Axis Holidays) defeated AVC Solico 2-1.

Sangolda went ahead in the eighth minute when Russel Rodrigues sent a perfect cross from the left to Colin D'Cruz, who made no mistake.

AVC missed a chance to level the score in the 18th minute when Sandrick Fernandes shot just sailed over the bar.

Sangolda, who were leading by a goal at the break, soon made it 2-0 when Russel Rodrigues converted from the spot kick in second minute on resumption.

Sandrick Fernandes almost pulled one for AVC in the 10th minute, this time his shot missed the left post. However, the man of the match found the net in18th minute to reduce the margin.
