Johnson won weekly e-draw, but he didn’t answer phone despite multiple calls
Abu Dhabi: Getting a call from Big Ticket show host Richard is a dream-come-true moment for many participants. But when one lucky individual finally did receive the call, not once, but multiple times he didn’t answer.
Selva Johnson, a 45-year-old Indian expat who has been living in Abu Dhabi for the past 24 years, had been trying his luck every month for the past eight years. His persistence paid off when he won Dh150,000 in the Big Ticket weekly e-draw series 276.
During the live draw, Richard attempted to call Johnson. The first time, the call was met with what seemed like a busy tone. The second time, the phone rang but still, no response. Richard carried on with the show, awarding prizes to other winners.
Just before wrapping up, he gave it one final try. The phone rang again, but Johnson didn’t pick up.
Fortunately, as is often the case, the Big Ticket team’s persistence paid off and they finally managed to get through to Johnson.
“This is excellent news. I was overjoyed when I finally got the winning call,” said the mechanical technician, who is celebrating his first-ever win.
Johnson, who discovered Big Ticket through its official website, always participates as part of a group of 10 friends. With his winnings, his top priority is saving for the future. He remains optimistic about more wins and encourages others to try their luck.
