Abu Dhabi: A 68-year-old Indian national living in Mumbai and a 38-year-old Tunisian expat residing in Ajman are among the bonus winners of the Big Ticket draw, each taking home a Dh150,000 cash prize. They are joined by three Keralites living in the UAE who also struck luck after years of persistence.

‘After a decade of trying, it finally happened’

Babulal Gautam, a Mumbai resident, previously lived in Sharjah, where he owned a shop in 2014. He has been purchasing Big Ticket entries for the past 10 years. He first heard about the raffle during his time in the UAE and was intrigued enough to research it further.

“I found Big Ticket to be the most genuine and trustworthy raffle out there, which is why I’ve continued buying tickets all these years. I missed the winning call, but I saw the email and was overjoyed. I kept checking and rechecking to make sure it was real. After a whole decade of trying, it finally happened.”

‘The first step to winning is ...’

Gautam said he always had faith he would win one day.
“I always had a feeling I would win one day, which is why I kept going. Now that I have, I plan to use part of the prize for my family and to support people in need around me. I’ll keep buying more tickets. I’m more of a scientific person and don’t believe in luck much, so I believe the first step to winning is to simply buy a ticket. That’s my advice to others – take that first step.”

Tunisian expat has been trying since 2016

Souhail Barhoumi, a Tunisian expat living in Ajman with his wife and daughter, works at a bank. He discovered Big Ticket in 2016 and has been buying tickets regularly ever since, especially during promotional offers.

“I was out shopping for Eid clothes with my daughter when I received the winning call, it completely made my day. I’ll never forget my winning ticket number.”

‘I will complete my under-construction house’

Winning the bonus prize has only fuelled Barhoumi’s determination to aim for the grand prize.
“My house is currently under construction, so the prize money will help me complete it. The plan is to continue purchasing tickets until I win the grand prize. I always tell my friends about Big Ticket and how real and trustworthy it is. My advice to others is to give it a try, one day, your luck might just surprise you,” Barhoumi added.
