Bahrain firm launches public buses
Bahrain's Cars Transportation Corporation (CTC), the first private transport system in the GCC, was officially launched recently with 40 luxury buses that run between major destinations.
The company, a Bahraini joint venture between the Abdullah Ahmed bin Hindi Company and Cars Company, started its services for 16 hours a day. Its 40 air-conditioned buses with 51 seats each will cover various routes to cater to public transport needs.
The routes are divided into five zones, on the basis of distance and driving time, and the fare will range between 150 and 375 fils. The network of service connects all 17 major routes across the country.
The Cars Transportation Corporation won the contract to run the service following the disbanding of the public transport system last summer.
